The Last Insulation Your Building Will Ever Need.

What the Warranty Covers

ThermoSeal's lifetime material warranty covers the performance of all ThermoSeal spray foam products against defects in material and significant, documented loss of thermal performance caused by product failure.

The warranty is tied to the original structure, not the original owner. If you sell your home or building, the warranty can be transferred to the new owner by providing written notice to ThermoSeal within 60 days of the sale. Spray foam that performs correctly does not need to be replaced, ever. That's the confidence behind a lifetime warranty.

Three things are required to keep your warranty valid: a ThermoSeal certified installer, genuine ThermoSeal products, and installation within the product's specified processing parameters. These are the minimum conditions for the manufacturer's material warranty to apply; they place responsibility for proper installation squarely with the certified installer.

What's Covered & What's Not

Clear, plain-English breakdown of what ThermoSeal's material warranty covers and what falls outside warranty scope.

Covered by Warranty

  • Material defects: foam that fails to cure properly due to product formulation issues
  • Significant documented loss of thermal performance caused by product failure (not normal aging)
  • Delamination from substrate caused by product adhesion failure (not substrate movement)
  • Chemical off-ratio failure traceable to product formulation (distinct from equipment miscalibration)
  • Any manufacturer-acknowledged batch defect affecting installed product
  • Coverage transfers fully to new building owner upon documented transfer request

Not Covered by Warranty

  • Installations by uncertified or non-approved installers
  • Physical damage from construction activity, pest intrusion, or mechanical impact
  • Damage from exposure to UV light (foam must be covered or coated as required)
  • Failure caused by incompatible chemicals, solvents, or coatings applied over the foam
  • Substrate movement, settling, or structural failure unrelated to the foam
  • Off-ratio application caused by uncalibrated or incorrect installer equipment
  • Cosmetic surface changes (normal yellowing of foam surface; structural performance unaffected)

Three Conditions for Valid Coverage

The ThermoSeal lifetime warranty requires three conditions. All three must be satisfied for coverage to apply; meeting them is the certified installer's responsibility, not ThermoSeal's guarantee.

1

Certified Installer

The installation must be performed by a ThermoSeal certified installer who has completed the 12-module training program, passed the certification exam, and maintains active certification status. Uncertified installations, regardless of quality, are not covered by the manufacturer warranty.

2

Genuine ThermoSeal Products

Only genuine ThermoSeal A-side and B-side products, as supplied by ThermoSeal USA, are covered. Blended, diluted, or substitute materials, even when applied by a certified installer, are not covered. Your certified installer's supply records document product authenticity.

3

Proper Processing Parameters

Products must be applied within ThermoSeal's specified temperature, pressure, and substrate condition requirements. Open cell: 129°F, 1,200 PSI. Closed cell (HFO/5G): 110–120°F, 1,200–1,450 PSI. Substrate must be dry and above 40°F. These parameters are documented by the certified installer at time of application.

Why certified installers matter: ThermoSeal's certification program trains installers on correct product handling, equipment calibration, and application standards. Certification does not guarantee any individual installation; it confirms the installer has been trained to meet these requirements. Homeowners and builders should always request installation documentation and a completed warranty application from their installer.

Warranty FAQ

The most common questions homeowners and builders ask about ThermoSeal's warranty coverage.

ThermoSeal's material warranty covers the performance of ThermoSeal spray foam products for the lifetime of the original structure when installed by a ThermoSeal certified installer using proper equipment and application procedures. The warranty covers material defects and significant loss of thermal performance due to product failure, not normal aging, substrate movement, or damage caused by other trades.
Yes. ThermoSeal's material warranty is transferable to subsequent owners of the original structure. The warranty period does not reset upon transfer. To initiate a transfer, notify ThermoSeal in writing within 60 days of the change of ownership; contact us at 1-800-853-1577 or info@thermosealusa.com with your original installation documentation and the new owner's information.
Three conditions must be met for the ThermoSeal warranty to remain valid: (1) The installation must be performed by a ThermoSeal certified installer using calibrated, approved proportioning equipment. (2) Genuine ThermoSeal products must be used, not blended, diluted, or substituted materials. (3) The foam must be applied within the product's specified processing parameters (temperature, pressure, substrate conditions). Installations that do not meet these requirements are not covered.
To make a warranty claim, contact ThermoSeal's technical support team at 1-800-853-1577 or info@thermosealusa.com. You will need: your installer's name and certification number, the installation date and address, photos documenting the issue, and your original project documentation if available. A ThermoSeal technical representative will assess the claim and schedule an inspection if warranted.
ThermoSeal's manufacturer warranty covers the material: product performance and defects in the product itself. Workmanship (the quality of the installation) is the installer's responsibility and is governed by the installer's own workmanship warranty, which varies by contractor. We recommend asking your certified installer about their workmanship guarantee before the project begins. If you believe a defect may be product-related, contact ThermoSeal to open a material claim; our assessment will determine whether the issue originates with the product or the installation.
The ThermoSeal warranty does not cover: damage caused by improper installation by uncertified installers; physical damage from construction activity, pest intrusion, or substrate movement; failure due to exposure to incompatible chemicals, solvents, or UV light (foam must be coated or covered); installations where substitute or blended products were used; or normal color changes to the foam surface (cosmetic, not structural).
